english soil under my feet again. we have been away for 3 weeks on holiday and it is always a shock to be home. there is always a good feeling about being home, everything seems to be just how it was when you left, you know what things go in which cupboards and you find yourself sitting in the same chair looking at the same walls within minutes.
we spent 2 weeks of our time away in fredericton, canada. it is the provincial capital in new brunswick and is where we look to move to in 18 months time. it is an exciting time period of our lives as we look to get stuck in to life here and be completely committed to the mission but also to look ahead and prepare to move.
it would be a nice enough decision to move to canada in itself but after spending some time thinking it over i feel even more privaledged that God has spoken and called us there.
the other week of our holiday was spent in honfleur, france where we drank fine red wine and built bridges. we do not feel that god has called us there but it makes for a lovely break.
the blog is back.

concerning hobbits
the soundtrack from lord of the rings is simply delightful. it allows you stretch out, close your eyes and drift away into a land that we would all like to visit on a daily basis. what is it about the songs that have this instantanious effect of peace. part of the answer may lie in having watched the film and remembering the thought of the life that the hobbits lived.
another reason might be because of the place it takes us to individually when we close our eyes and listen. the busyness of life disapears for a few short minutes and you forget sometimes that you have to re-open your eyes and continue with the washing up.

quietness
hello.
quietness in some places and situations can be a most excellent position to be in. the library is often a quiet place so that people can concentrate, to read or work. it can resemble a position of peace. i have not written a blog entry in almost a month, 4 weeks of not even quietness but more silence on the blogging front. maybe this can be seen as a good thing, i havent really thought about an answer but i am hear to now break the quiet and respond to the constant nagging of a blog entry to be written.
life has been busy in recent weeks. amongst the busyness i have been offered a new job, one that will hopefully help me in a career towards becoming a financial advisor or an ifa if you know the lingo. this means that i have 3 weeks left at lloyds and i can then leave with a smile and feel that i have given much to the company in the 2 years i have been there.
i am now in this inbetween period, the kind of feeling you get at half-time at a football match. not really knowing what to do for the short time before the second half. thoughts lie in what could have been in the first half and maybe at what should have been but also there is an excitement, an anticipation for what is to come. a sort of nervousness that bubbles away. anything could happen in the second half you think to yourself. your mind begins to wonder and go far beyond what is probably a reality, but which of course is still a possibility. sometimes you can listen to those around you, so many opinions, everyone has an opinion at a football match. some make good observations, some clearly didnt watch the first half properly. then just as your making some ground the team appears. it has begun.
england play tomorrow twice.
once in the football and once in the rugby.
tonight however i will eat meat and drink beer.

hugo
hello.
today was lovely weather. me and sally went to seaford. it was nice to relax on the beach with not many people about and then go for a cold magners. day trips aren't done enough, it's finding the time for them i guess and having good weather. seaford wouldnt look too good in the pouring rain. sitting on the beach in the pouring rain would have been even uncooler.
we went into a pet shop during our time there, we have been thinking about getting a hamster but i think we will actually get a mouse. they seem more fun, and more friendly. they sleep less. i would like to call it hugo.
so we have said we will get all the necessary items for hugo when we return from devon next weekend. then we will buy the mouse and all be very happy.
this evening we finished off our good day with a curry. there is no better way to do it. curry and beer. it tasted superb.
goodnight.

circle of pain.
hello.
the circle of pain that violated my kidney should now be washed down into some swamp by now which means that my kidney named rambo is easing into a smile. the pain is less and i was back at work saving the financial services. how are my readers? do i have any readers is probably a better question?!
my studying has continued well and in a year or so i may well be your financial advisor, advising you on all things financial and maybe even more depending on how wise i am feeling at the time.
it has been sunny the last week or so and september has turned into our summer. today i walked, basking in the sunshine and went to mei mei to eat chicken choi mein. lovely.
mei mei actually means 'tasty'. only one tasty however and not 2 which you might expect from there being 2 mei's. that is todays cantonese lesson, in lesson 2 i will advise you to say...good afternoon, may i order chicken choi mein.

enlarged kidney
this morning i awoke in much pain. by 4am i was in hospital
having it explained tome that i had an enlarged kidney and that
it would need to be looked at by the surgical team. i was feeling
a little frustrated that i may miss the football butby mid-morning
the 3.25mm kidney stone that was traped had escaped to the bladder
and had realised that the party was over.
i hope tonight i will sleep better and not awake at such an unearthly time but
also that my kidneys would enjoy being the size they are.
emile did a fine job today.
